Standard de Liège and Circus are proud to announce that they are renewing their partnership for the 2021-2022 season. In fact, Circus have decided to support Standard de Liège by continuing to sponsor their shirts for the 4th consecutive season.
A subsidiary of the Belgian family group GAMING1 present in Belgium and internationally, Circus offers online and land-based casino games and sports betting. Circus, appearing on the back of Standard de Liège shirts since 2018, is a key actor in Belgian sport. True to its desire to support black-yellow-red projects over time, it was natural for Circus to extend their partnership with Standard de Liège
Emmanuel Mewissen, CEO of Circus:
Renewing our partnership with Standard de Liège was an obvious choice for Circus, if only for our pride in our Liège roots. But the similarities between us don't stop there! Like Standard, we use our presence in Belgium to develop our visibility internationally.
Going further than just sponsoring, this partnership sparks real collaboration between the two institutions. Certain partner matches sponsored by Circus have been a real spectacle with a DJ, show at half-time, firework show, etc. But the collaboration has also been a hit off the football pitch! In fact, various joint initiatives have been successful on social media, which have been particularly important in the context of the pandemic. Since 2020, Circus has also been Standard's main partner for eSport. Supported by Circus, Quentin "ShadooW" Vande Wattyne, for example, reached the semi-final of a big international eSport tournament bringing together 128 teams in April 2020.
Alexandre Grosjean, CEO of Standard de Liège:
Betting on Circus was the winnings choice for us. We are happy to extend this dynamic partnership that has become a long-lasting relationship throughout the seasons. Our two institutions are committed to highlighting our local roots while developing a quality brand image on a national and even international level.
Based in Liège, Belgium, Circus is one of the brands of GAMING1, which has been present in the entertainment sector for more than 20 years and owns, among others, the Grand Casino de Namur and the Casino de Spa.
