THE SCOPE
With 30 years of history, today Gaming1 is one of the international leaders in both land-based and online games of chance (casino games, sports betting and poker). Its evolution at the heart of innovation is accompanied by a diversification and specialization of positions, with the creation of new cutting-edge jobs. As part of its sustained growth, Gaming1 is looking for a Paralegal Regulatory to join its Regulatory team.
Within the Legal & Administration department, the Regulatory team is responsible for all the legal questions linked to regulations (in a broad sense: laws, regulations, norms, general conditions, etc.) applicable to Gaming1’s business sector (operating regulations, AML, GDPR, gaming legislation).
They provide support for the Compliance department, other departments like Marketing and Technology, as well as the Business Units in Belgium and abroad. To face the challenge of the company’s growth and the development of the legal service, the team is looking for a new colleague to work with the Regulatory Officers.
YOUR ROLE
Within the Regulatory team, the Paralegal Regulatory will have the tasks of:
- Assisting the management of litigations with players and the administrative remedies (preparation of files, organization of meetings with lawyers, etc.) and maintaining monitoring tables.
- Preparing legal correspondence, notes and documents (privacy policy, game competitions, etc.).
- Preparing, under the supervision of the Regulatory Officer, the files required by the authorities (Belgian Gaming Commission, police, SPF Finances, SPF Justice), and ensuring that deadlines are met.
- Preparing documents related to seizures and other documents needed for the seizure procedures.
- Helping with the preparation of training material given by the regulatory team to other departments (marketing, betting, etc.), and ensuring the follow up and coordination.
- Helping with the management, follow-up and renewing of the group’s licenses.
- Maintaining a “Legal Knowledge Center” database with the regulatory information useful to different teams.
- Being responsible for (electronically) signing the team’s legal documents, and for the proper information, circulation and follow-up of documents between departments.
- Aiding the monitoring of tasks linked to applying legislation on personal data.
- Carrying out various administrative tasks to help the team (e.g., archiving, orders, invoice follow-up, meetings, file creation).
